The Café De La Chandelle Verte (English: Green Candle Café) is a small Parisian café and the site of the terrorist attack that launches George Stobbart from sipping a coffee into the global cat and mouse chase that is Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars.

The opening scene is set in and around the café. Plantard, planning to meet Nicole Collard goes inside and orders a drink, while George sits at a table on the sidewalk, enjoying the Parisian weather. Khan, dressed as a clown, arrives after Plantard. He too enters the café, only to come running out moments later carrying Plantard's briefcase.

It is revealed that Khan, in clown attire, switched his accordion (which concealed a bomb) for the briefcase that contains the Templar's manuscript.

The accordion detonates, George is thrown across the street by the blast, Plantard is killed and the waitress Chantelle is knocked unconscious. The café itself is reduced to a burnt out mess, except for a bottle of Brandy, which somehow remained intact.
