Thelwell Minster is a guest staying at Alfonso's Hotel at a time when George Stobbart and Anna-Maria were trying to access her room after being chased by the mafia.
He is staying in Alfonso's Hotel to purchase some rare water colours depicting geese. Cackling, Brant, Pinkfoot. Bean Brent and Barnacle. Geese, sir. Wild geese! Alser albifrons! Branta bernicla! The great ocean wanderers! Minster dislikes the hotel but cannot change accomodation because the dealer from whom he is going to buy the geese paintings only has Alfonso's number for contact. He doesn't like golf, he simply can not think of nothing more apalling.
